Summertime Fruit

Here are few shots of experimentation with fruit and sparkling water. Thanks to Bryan Peterson for the helpful tips.

Here's the breakdown of this shot:

  • Nikon D90 w/ 50mm 1.8
  • Tripod
  • Vase or glass w/ sparkling or mineral water.
  • Blue posterboard backdrop
  • Reflector used underneath vase
  • Assistant
Notes: I shot this at 800 ISO to get freezing motion (think I was around 1/4,000 sec). Continuous high at 4FPS to insure accuracy. Another alternative is to use a shutter release cable if your running solo on this. Best time of day is at midday. This way the reflector can hit underneath the fruit for overall lighting.

For any other questions about how I shot these, feel free to post. Cheers!

By the way, sparkling water is disgusting.
